Boulevard is always named as one of San Francisco’s top restaurants. But the standard-bearer of quality cuisine often loses in mindshare and hype to the more experimental and trendy newcomers that young foodies praise. So it’s great news that this icon, whose name is synonymous with consistently delicious meals at a reasonable price, has won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant.

Boulevard’s Outstanding Restaurant award was significant not only because it singled out Boulevard over every other restaurant in the country, but because it was the first time the award has returned to the West Coast since French Laundry took the prize in 2006.
