Literary Events: Regreturature, The Vanishers & Best Sex Writing 2012

This week’s best literary events include a new Litquake benefit show, author Heidi Julavits at Books Inc., and Rachel Kramer Bussel and Susie Bright at The Booksmith.

This Wednesday, Litquake and the Writers’ Grotto present Regretature: An Evening of Readings that Probably Shouldn’t See the Light of Day, at The Verdi Club. Don’t miss the embarrassing and hilarious vignettes from SF literary stars, Katie Crouch, Heather Donohue, Isaac Fitzgerald and many more.

Author and editor of The Believer, Heidi Julavits, presents her latest work, The Vanishers, this Thursday at Books Inc. in the Marina. The new novel is really about how women are catty. It’s a simple fact, and in The Vanishers, Julavits’ captures those emotionally intense, often overblown tiffs between women incredibly well.

Editor Rachel Kramer Bussel and judge Susie Bright, will present their heated nonfiction anthology, Best Sex Writing of 2012, next Monday at The Booksmith. From an “X-Rated Jew” to “SlutWalks“, the articles and essays take a bold stab at reflecting modern sex in America.
