Skream & Benga at Regency Ballroom

As two of the first dubstep producers, Skream and Benga helped define the genre in London over 10 years ago. Currently producing and touring together after success with supergroup Magnetic Man, they perform at the Regency Ballroom Monday, March 19 on the first stop of their American tour.

After both shaping their musical tastes at South London’s Big Apple Records, Skream and Benga began developing their unique sound through solo careers. Skream became known for a more melodic style of dubstep while Benga stuck with a darker sound as each started producing music in their mid-teens.

Both have collaborated with several artists and in 2007 formed live electronic trio Magnetic Man along with fellow Big Apple Records devotee Artwork.

Soon starting a new residency as DJs with BBC Radio 1, Skream and Benga recently joined to release a dark sounding dubstep EP with Scion, reminding the genre’s growing fanbase of its true roots.
