Yeah Yeah Yeahs Join The Creators Project in San Francisco

A couple of weeks back we reported that VICE, in collaboration with Intel, would be kicking off a series of world events focused on technology, art and innovation in San Francisco at the Fort Mason Center from March 17 to 18.

Today, the full schedule for the two-day culture and technology festival The Creators Project has been announced and will feature live musical performances from millennial sensation the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the first U.S. appearance for electronic artist Squarepusher in seven years.

Other artists scheduled to perform on Saturday include Los Angeles noise-rock band HEALTH,  Brooklyn’s The Antlers, goth-pop sensation Zola Jesus, critically acclaimed hip-hop collective Shabazz Palaces, indie rock staple The Hundred in the Hands, and chillwave bedroom-pop act Teen Daze.

James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and the founder of DFA Records will also make a guest DJ appearance accompanied by visuals.

For art installations, visual artist Feng Mengbo will be presenting Bruce Lee VJ Project which will be complemented by a performance from Chinese punk rock band New Pants.  Artist Mira Calix will present Secret Heart, Minha Yang will showcase Flat-e, Meditation, and Sosolimited will debut Overscan. Additionally, new work from Chris Milk, an installation called Our 3 Stages of Flight and a gigantic audiovisual installation by electronic composer Scanner entitled Origin will be on display.

Films will be shown all weekend and there will be a number of panel discussions including the “Artist as Researcher” and “The Creative Potential of the 3D Web” which will feature Aaron Koblin and San Francisco hackathon winners.
