Gallery Openings: The Forgotten Space, Go Wild With Lomography & More

This week’s best gallery openings include a documentary and photo show at SFAI, a costume party at Lomography, and a street art tribute at SFSU.

The Forgotten Space, a documentary by Allan Sekula and Noel Burch, will begin screening this Wednesday at the San Francisco Art Institute’s Walter and McBean Galleries. The feature-length film accompanies Allan Sekula and Bruno Serralongue’s exhibit Oceans and Campfire, will be on view at the gallery through February 18. Read more about the documentary here.

This Thursday, Go WILD with Lomogaphy. Their party will include new Lomographic photo surprises, plenty of drinks, great music and an animal costume contest, complete with prizes for the winners!

SFSU presents Slap in the Face: A Tribute to Sticker and Graffiti Art, this Friday at the SFSU Gallery at the Cesar Chavez Student Center. The exhibition addresses the rise of sticker art, a biproduct of street art, a biproduct of graffiti art.
