Slow Hand BBQ at Doctor’s Lounge

More good BBQ news in SF. After Cathead’s BBQ found a permanent home in SoMa, the folks at Doctor’s Lounge, 4826 Mission St. needed a replacement vendor. So they recently filled that empty spot with Slow Hand BBQ. Slow Hand makes some of the best ribs I’ve had in a long time, I polished off half a rack of baby back ribs in just a few minutes.

Dan Frengs is the friendly chef-owner of Slow Hand BBQ. His menu repertoire includes Texas style brisket, baby back ribs, Carolina style pulled pork, and his own version of red beans and rice with smoked Creole spiced short ribs & hot linguica – the BBQ meats are available as a plate or sandwich. Each plate comes with a small side serving of his own BBQ sauce and cole slaw. He started his mobile barbecue venture last year, serving at East Bay farmers markets, and a few random pop-ups and catering events around the Bay Area.

The current schedule has SHBBQ at Doctor’s Lounge on Wednesday and Friday evenings, from 6 to 10 pm. Check SHBBQ’s Facebook account or Twitter for the latest location updates.
