If you’re into food, then you know that Brussels Sprouts are all the rage right now. Delicious, nutritious and expeditious, here is a simple recipe to cook up at home (vegetarians beware)…


1 package of organic Brussels Sprouts

2 Tbs. olive oil

1 clove of garlic

1/2 pound of bacon

1/8th cup of pine nuts


Slice sprouts in half

Blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes and then let dry

Cook bacon lightly in a large fry pan

Crumple the cooked bacon into small pieces

Place the blanched brussel sprouts onto a lightly oiled baking pan

Peel garlic cloves and slice (if desired)

Sprinkle the crumpled bacon, garlic and pine nuts over the top of the sprouts

Drizzle a couple of tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil atop everything

Roast in oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees
