Preview: DJ Tech Tools’ Ean Golden @ Public Works

While others continued to fine tune their DJ skills on vinyl or with CDs, Ean Golden was a leading pioneer of controllerism DJing and has helped lead the movement ever since.  Wednesday, December 7 his artform can be seen and heard live with Bangers & Mash at Public Works.

A DJ since 1996, seven years later SF’s Ean Golden would begin a music and tech journey that continues to defy limits today. Starting out with a midi controller attached to a turntable, he has recently played a key role in the development of the top selling Traktor S4. Ean hasn’t only blazed the path for countless midi controller musicians but also built the largest community of digital DJs within his site DJTechTools.com.

While some see the controllerism movement as a threat to traditional turntablism, it is clearly its own movement, has been for years and is consistently breaking musical boundaries.

Watch Ean in action below using the Traktor Kontrol S2 to remix Depeche Mode live.
