Five Guys Burgers Invades Bay Area

Local burger lovers will soon have a chance to try president Obama’s favorite fast food burger chain. Five Guys Burgers will open in a two-story corner building at 1450 Howard Avenue, in Burlingame.

Five Guys’ systematic invasion of the Bay Area started last year, when the first wave of 9 stores opened in the East Bay (Fremont, Dublin and Pleasant Hill), Central Valley (Sacramento, Vacaville, Elk Grove, Stockton) and the South Bay (San Jose and Sunnyvale).

This year, the second wave of stores landed a location in the North Bay (Santa Rosa), and reinforced the South Bay with two more stores in San Jose. New locations in Burlingame, and the East Bay (Hayward and Concord) will open by the end of the year, revealing a strategy to gradually surround the city. For now, it seems that they don’t have plans to venture inside city limits.
