Literary Arts: Litquake & Then Some

If you haven’t noticed, SF is currently being taken over by Literary madness. Now, more than ever, it’s time to get your read on.

Litquake 2011 kicked off last week and will continues through Saturday October 15. The annual festival unites hundreds of authors from across the globe in venues across the city — check out our full Litquake guide here.

Take Sunday off, then jump right back on the literary circuit with two ace events on Monday evening. First, Jon Reiner presents The Man Who Couldn’t Eat at The Booksmith. In this work, the James Beard Foundation award-winning writer (not to mention full-out glutton) documents three months without food. It’s not something you want to go through, but it actually makes for some nice reading.

Meanwhile, up at Herbst Theatre, two beloved novelist Michael Ondaatje (The Cat’s Table, The English Patient, Divisadero), and Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Chabon (Wonder Boys, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay) will take the stage. Sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation.
