Pierogi Night with the Old World Food Truck

Missed the Old World Food Truck’s Rosh Hashanah dinner at La Victoria a couple weeks ago? The purveyors of Jewish Eastern European cuisine are back this Wednesday, October 12th with Pierogi Night.

Sidebar for Russian Vocab Minute here. Pierogi is pronounced peh-ro-gi with stress on the last syllable. If you want to really impress a Russian, call them peroshki, pronounced peh-rosh-ki, with stress on the last syllable.  (It’s the diminutive or familiar form.) Hey, if you’re eating new food, might as well call it by its real name!

Anywho, Chef Kenny Hockert and team will be at La Victoria from 6pm to 9:30pm this and every Wednesday in fall serving up all sorts of Jewish comfort food. This week’s Pierogi Night focuses on a made-by-babushka tradition of little dumplings that are crispy on one side and soft on the other. The Old World Food Truck will have three flavor options: potato-spinach-cheddar, mushroom-cabbage, and beef brisket. A variety of condiments such as sour cream, sweet and spicy pepper relish and fried shallots will be available too.

Pricing:

  • One flavor, single serving: $8
  • Combo of 2-3 flavors, single serving: $14
  • Combo of 2-3 flavors, double serving: $27
  • Combo of 2-3 flavors, triple serving: $40

The event is BYOB with no corkage fee and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
