Literary Arts: Music, Booze & Good Eats

This week, mix ‘n mingle with a bit of literary music, beer and foodie fodder. 

Musician turned author, Ry Cooder, will discuss his debut book, Los Angeles Stories, on Wednesday at City Light Bookstore. Set in post WWII Los Angeles, the collection of loosely tied together stories depicts the working class lives of California dreamers.

Also on Wednesday, Book’toberfest is going down at the Mechanic’s Institute Library. The 1st annual fair and local beer tasting be feature local authors, book sellers, editors and other industry professionals, speaking on emerging indie publishing trends. Have a drink and talk a little shop.

Jump to next Tuesday where the infamous Alton Brown will present Good Eats 3: The Later Years, at Book Passage in the Ferry Building. The quirky, mad kitchen scientist will sign copies and conduct a Q&A, so cook up your craziest food queries and ask away.
