An Act of KINDness Goes a Long Way

There are times when a food truck is just not a food truck, but has more meaning. The visiting KIND Food Truck is the perfect example of that as it has taken residence in the Bay Area over the last week.

KIND is a brand of all natural foods made “from ingredients you can see and pronounce,” but also gives a whole new meaning to snacking. Each month, KIND challenges its community/followers to carry out a specific act of kindness (known as a KINDING Mission) on the first Tuesday of the month. October’s mission was to get people to send a thoughtful note or email to a woman who has impacted their life. If-and-only-if enough people sign up to complete the KINDING Mission (which occurred in San Francisco), KIND responds with a BIG KIND Act. This month, they teamed with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to hand deliver care packages to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer at a local hospital.

Each month, KIND tries to pick a different, timely theme (for example, honoring service members in July near the 4th). The KIND Food Truck travels across the country working with local KIND employees to not only give free samples of their products, but also to encourage people to complete “an act of KINDness.”

At the truck on Tuesday, they also had a table set up for people to be able to write notes to those receiving care packages or just a woman in their life that inspires them or is a “true fighter” who has overcome the odds. The notes will be included in the care packages.

The KIND Food Truck will be staying in the Bay Area through the weekend so stop by, learn about their wonderful program and try some of their tasty bars to boot.
