Theater: Nymphs, Lines & Georgia O’Keeffe

This week the stage is set for two new plays and a free, outdoor performance by students from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet school.

This Wednesday, take your lunch to-go and head over to Union Square for a special outdoor performance by top students from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet school. The free performance will include funk fusion and afro-modern along with modern ballet. Get there early — this one’s sure to draw a crowd.

Later, on Wednesday evening, the Cole Porter‘s sexy musical, Nymph Errant, opens at the Eureka Theater. Based on the book by Romney Brent, Nymph Errant is set in in early 1930’s Europe, where a young Englishwoman sets off to conquer life, love, lust…and then some! The show runs Wednesday through Sunday evenings, and will close on Sunday October 23.

This Friday marks the world premier of Hanging Georgia, a new play by Georgia O’Keeffe, at the Thick House. The new play, by Bay Area playwright, Sharmon Hilfinger, tells the poignant love story of O’Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz. The show runs through Sunday October 30, and we recommend booking early — some shows are already sold out!
