Hayes Valley will soon have their first community parklet. To celebrate, generate interest, and fundraise, a Parklet Party will take place on Friday at Mercury Cafe.

The parklet will be on Octavia in front of Mercury and Straw. Two parking spaces will be transformed into a public space with a bench, tables, chairs, planters, and a bike corral. Mercury Cafe will maintain this space which is expected to increase foot traffic and increase nearby business activity.

Support the parklet by attending the party, where you can listen to live music by Gaucho, Even Taylor and Megan Keeley, while chowing down on goodies from Straw and perusing local art. Help fund the cause and get some goods at the live auction and raffles. Top it all off with free a scoop from Smitten Ice Cream (the folks that use liquid nitrogen to whip up made to order ice cream).
