Live Review: The Kills – No Drums, No Fun?
Across The Bay, The Kills entertained hundreds of devoted fans as they rocked out to song after song of new material from their latest album. Almost every track off Blood Pressures is catchy and honest and were carried through on stage tonight with all the ferocity and grittiness that you’d expect.
The Kills diehard fans and newbies alike seemed to enjoy every bit of “Heart Is A Beating Drum” despite the fact that every song of their set was powered by a drum machine rather than a live drummer. Perhaps the saving grace was the stripped down nature of their lighting production – a few feet away from VV and Hotel were four lighting technicians who maneuvered spotlights by hand in straight-up DIY fashion.
