This Saturday evening, two low-brow strongholds — White Walls and Gallery Hijinks — launch their September shows.

White Walls presents Jessica Hess: It Finds You, a selection of new hyper-realistic paintings of graffiti street art.f The reception for Hess’ first solo show with the gallery will take place this Saturday evening from 7pm-11pm.

Over in the Mission, Beau Stanton will reveal his latest solo exhibition, Sanguine Machine at Gallery Hijinks, from 6pm-10pm. Stanton’s oil paintings are a mash-up of graphic iconography, classicism, apocalyptic imagery and 19th century letterpress printing designs. Strange, yes, but definitely worth a gander.
