Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, dropped his highly anticapted mixtape Thursday via his website, a followup to his sensational debut project House of Balloons. Thursday is another 9-track album, with one guest appearance—a beautiful verse lent by fellow Toronto native Drake on “The Zone.” 

The album follows its predecessor with its futuristic mix of piano and electric sounds. The production takes center stage, however, the lyrics are just as memorizing. Tesfaye has perfected this style of minimal, downtempo, post-dubstep production. He uses his voice to guide his story along the carefully planned beats. Listen below:
