Fresh & Easy Markets Recall Baby Spinach
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets have voluntarily recalled its fresh Organic Baby Spinach with the Enjoy by date of August 1 sold under the f&e™ label.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the recall is “being issued out of an abundance of caution” as one bag of the product was confirmed to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The organization said that no illnesses have been reported thus far.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
The recalled product was sold in stores located in California, Nevada and Arizona.
