American Beauty director Sam Mendes is slated to team back up with Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey in a stage production of one of the Bard of Avon’s classic plays, making San Francisco the second U.S. city to host this highly-anticipated event.
Shakespeare’s Richard III will hit the Curran Theatre from October 19th through October 29th. Mendes will direct legendarily strange Spacey as the leading role along with award-winning British actress Maureen Anderman as the Duchess of York.
The Curran Theatre will join the ranks of a small list of very lucky theaters given the honor of hosting Shakespeare’s Richard III. Having already hit a few locations around the world including London, Hong Kong, Spain and Sydney, San Francisco will become 1 of 11 cities to give audiences a chance to see this landmark production receiving rave reviews.
Tickets for this event go on sale Friday, August 19th.
