Almost a year after the release of his new album, Matthew Dear has finally released a video for the single “Slowdance.” A haunting piece directed by Charles Bergquist, this video transforms Dear’s minimalstic melodies into images resonating with romanticism. Shot in black and white, the video neither takes attention away from Dear’s simple yet penetrating lyrics, but rather allows the viewer to gain a visual interpretation of their meaning.
