“Jeopardy” game show host Alex Trebek was injured earlier this week while chasing a burglar out of his San Francisco hotel room.

San Francisco police responded to a report of a burglary at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis early Tuesday morning. Trebek and his wife were asleep when the woman entered the room and stole a number of items, including purses, wallets and cash.

Investigators said Trebek woke in time to see the suspect leaving the room and chased her down the hallway. He fell and injured his leg. But his wife was able to call hotel security, who apprehended the thief.

Police said 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers was arrested on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen property. No other suspects are believed to be involved.

Trebek is in the Bay Area hosting the National Geographic World Championship, a geography bee, at Google headquarters in Mountain View.
