Two Bay Area Restaurants Among Top Trendsetters in U.S.

A pair of Bay Area restaurants made the list of “14 Most Trendsetting Restaurants in the U.S.” according to U.S. Airways Magazine.

Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco made the list, not only for its food, but also for its charitable efforts. Founders Danny Bowien and Anthony Myint donate 75 cents from each entree to the San Francisco Food Bank.

The magazine also enjoyed the “Americanized Chinese food” and affordable prices.

The other entry is across the Bay. The magazine lists Gather in Berkeley as a place where “carnivore, vegan and gluten-free diners can sit down together to feast.”

The restaurant near the UC Berkeley campus has received plenty of recognition over the last year, including in both Food and Wine Magazine and Esquire.
