Goodbye to The Minimalist

This week Mark Bittman, the brainchild behind the wildly successful New York Times column and video series “The Minimalist“, exploring simple ways to make good food, announced that after 13 years and 700 pieces, that he will be ending the series. (No!)

As Bittman writes, “The column’s goal, my job, has been to help make home cooking more accessible.” And to that end, he wildly succeeded.

But all is not lost, Bittman will be writing about the politics of the food industry and whatnot in the opinion pages of the NYT and will be kicking off a new blog next week (!). He will also be writing a recipe column every Sunday beginning in March for The Times Magazine.

With his wry sense of humor and his quirky delivery, Bittman and his “The Minimalist” will be very much missed.
