Christmas Dinner

Most folks will be gathered around tables at home (or at Chinese restaurants) for Christmas dinner. But if you want to get out of the house, or away from the kitchen, then we have a few choice picks for you. These restaurants offer several courses of both traditional and not-so-traditional fare but all will infuse you with a unique holiday vibe and a full tummy. And the best part is that you can come home to a clean kitchen!

SF Station writer Anne Pao has picked Ame, Luce and A16 as her sure bets. “Mint candied vanilla glaze and deviled chocolate cake with eggnog salt” anyone? Yum! For the full post on holiday menus, go here.

Also open and serving special holiday menus on Christmas Day are The Velvet Room at the Clift Hotel ($75, four courses, highlights include: Apple Cider Braised Turkey with Gingerbread stuffing, Wilted Greens and Chestnut Gravy, and Warm Stollen Bread & Butter Pudding with Whipped Eggnog and Hot Buttered Rum Sauce, Christmas menu served from 12pm-8pm, call 415.929.2300 to make reservations) and Silks Restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental ($98, four courses, highlights include: Sonoma Duck Foie Gras Torchon, Seared Tai Snapper, Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, and Traditional Christmas Pudding, 5-8:30pm, contact John Burke or Johnny Ayala at 415.986.2020 or email [email protected] for reservations).
