12th Annual Human Rights Film Festival

The University of San Francisco (USF) presents the 2014 Human Rights Film Festival, an annual event highlighting films that promote awareness and conversation surrounding human rights issues at home and around the world. The festival will consist of three days of screenings--from Thurs., April 3 to Sat., April 5. Following each film, there will be a question and answer segment, led by an expert on the topic, to engage audience members in a critical discussion of the issues, and to consider ways these issues could be combatted.
The festival will begin with a choice number of USF student films and USF alumni-produced shorts, followed by professional films. All films shown focus on human rights issues. The topics addressed in this year’s films range from immigration to the effects of war. The festival’s closing film is The Act of Killing, a 2014 Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary Feature.
