Movies on the Square 2024

Gather your friends and family, grab a blanket or a lawn chair, and head on over to Redwood City's free outdoor movie series... with double features! There's nothing quite like watching great movies under the stars, surrounded by the company of others.

From June 6 through August 29, our FREE movie series features a wide variety of films, from family-friendly favorites to cult classics and everything in between. Join us on June 13 for a special Juneteenth Celebration featuring Black Independent Filmmakers with The Moon is in Aquarius.

Enjoy Downtown Redwood City on Courthouse Square by bringing the family out to a FREE movie! Your summer movie experience will be enhanced this year with a mix of family movies and feature films on Thursday evenings, now offering double features with Kids Movies at 6pm and Bravemaker Independent Films at 8pm! The main feature runs at 8:30pm.

Movies are shown in high-definition Blu-Ray and Surround sound when available. Redwood City is THE ONLY city in California offering surround sound movies, so come enjoy the scene and experience outdoor "theater" with our special LED Video screen. Come early for the best seats (a limited number of chairs and tables are available). Bring your blankets and pick up take-out food from the nearby wonderful restaurants!

Along with Movies on the Square, other exciting FREE events in Redwood City include: Music in the Park on Wednesdays; Music on the Square on Fridays; Pub in the Park on Saturdays; Shakespeare in the Park on Weekends in August; Kids Rock!
