This year's Art Bash begins at 5pm with a cocktail reception and an immersive dinner experience designed by iconic filmmaker and installation artist Isaac Julien, featuring photography and large-scale images from the artist's series Ten Thousand Waves. The dinner program will feature a dynamic live auction led by a Christie's charity auctioneer.
Grammy-nominated artist Tierra Whack will perform on the main stage at Art Bash--SFMOMA's biggest party of the year on Wednesday, April 24th. Known for her creative lyricism as a rapper and singer with inventive audiovisuals, Tierra Whack recently released a much-anticipated new album, World Wide Whack.
The Art Bash dinner will be followed by an elevated lounge experience for dinner guests opening at 8 p.m., including Solo to Symphony, a multidisciplinary installation conceived by Bay Area-based artist Richard Misrach. Dancers from Alonzo King LINES Ballet will lead dinner guests to the Premium Party Lounge for a performance. Misrach's activation in the Premium Party Lounge showcases a floor-to-ceiling installation of the artist's beloved Golden Gate series, large-scale prints of his photography and a video from Ocean Series, one of Misrach's collaborations with Alonzo King LINES Ballet.
Starting at 8 p.m. in SFMOMA's Gina and Stuart Peterson White Box a lively activation by painter and muralist Chelsea Ryoko Wong will captivate partygoers, bringing her painting Of Many Moons I've Dreamt of You to life with custom animations, a dance floor and lounge, together with music by DJ Alex Shen of Lower Grand Radio and a bar with cocktails crafted by the team at The Mushroom.
